Pliszka
Routes
Upper course of the river
Kosobudki - Drzewce
This 6-kilometer section is one of the most challenging routes on the Pliszka River. Numerous obstacles, such as fallen trees and the need for portages, make it a route primarily for experienced kayakers. Completing this route takes about 4 hours. Due to low water levels, it is rarely accessible. We recommend single-person kayaks.
Drzewce - Pliszka (Village)
A 13-kilometer route that takes an average of 6 hours to complete. In this section, the river flows through dense forests, creating natural obstacles such as fallen trees. Along the way, there is a sedge maze to navigate at the so-called "Sedge Meadow." This section is challenging but very picturesque.
Pliszka (Village) - Gądków Wielki Kajakarnia Camping
A gentler 6-kilometer section, perfect for less experienced kayakers. The route offers beautiful views of the Rzepin Forest. Midway, we pass through Lake Ratno, a nature reserve. Just before Gądków, there is a historic railway viaduct over the Pliszka River. The trip ends at the Kajakarnia Marina in Gądków Wielki. The average kayaking time is about 3 hours.
Middle course of the river
Gądków Wielki Kajakarnia Camping - Młyn Kokoszki
An 11-kilometer route leading through picturesque forested areas. The journey begins at the Kajakarnia Marina in Gądków. At the start, we paddle across Lake Wielickie before re-entering the Pliszka River, which from this point gains a faster current and a winding, mountainous character. This is a moderately challenging section, offering both calm stretches and obstacles. The route ends at the ruins of the Kokoszki Mill, where you can jump from a 1.5-meter weir. The difficulty of this route depends mainly on the current water level. The average time to complete it is about 5 hours.
Młyn Kokoszki - Młyn Bełcze - Sądów
One of the most challenging sections of the Pliszka River. This 9-kilometer route is full of natural obstacles such as fallen trees, sandy banks, and multiple portages. The initial segment, from Kokoszki Mill to Bełcze Mill, is the fastest part of the Pliszka. It’s worth stopping at the ruins of the second mill to admire the rich tree stand around Bełcze. This is a perfect place for a break during the adventure or even a finishing point, as we can also pick you up from here. This route is recommended for advanced kayakers. The section ends in Sądów at the Nadleśnictwo Cybinka Marina. The estimated paddling time is about 5 hours.
Lower course of the Pliszka River
Sądów – Koziczyn(Papiernia)
The route begins just past the hydroelectric power plant in Sądów. From Sądów, the river's current slows down again. Ahead lies an easy and calm section free of obstacles. The trip ends in Koziczyn at the old paper mill after approximately 3 hours of paddling.
Koziczyn – Urad (Pliszka) - Urad (Odra)
We start the route with a portage through the paper mill in Koziczyn. Ahead is the final stage on the Pliszka. The section is gentle, without obstacles. We finish the route after approximately 4 hours in the village of Urad, or we can continue to the old river port on the Oder.
Routes for beginners
Pliszka(Village) - Gądków Wielki Kajakarnia Camping
Perfect for those starting their adventure with recreational kayaking. A beautiful, simple route that anyone can navigate, and everyone can catch the kayaking bug for further adventures.
Sądów - Koziczyn - Urad
A gentle and peaceful route that will take us about 7 hours. A perfect choice for those who want to spend the whole day on the kayak, relaxing, without fighting the river. A convenient place for a break in Koziczyn, where we can also pick up paddlers.
Gądków Wielki Kajakarnia Camping - Młyn Kokoszki
After some initial experience with the kayak and paddle, I invite you to a slightly more challenging route. At higher water levels, the section is easy to navigate, and a few obstacles will add to the fun. The most scenic section on the Pliszka River.
Routes for advanced paddlers
Gądków Wielki Kajakarnia Camping - Młyn Kokoszki - Młyn Bełcze - Sądów
A full, challenging expedition lasting at least 8 hours for the entire day. 20 km of fallen trees and bends, but also the most beautiful views of the Pliszka River. A convenient stop at Młyn Kokoszki or Młyn Bełcze.
Drzewce - Pliszka (Village) - Gądków Wielki Kajakarnia Camping
A very challenging route that has already defeated many confident groups. Sandbanks, many fallen trees, and no stopping points until the village of Pliszka. Particularly difficult on hot days. Along the way, we have to navigate through a rush meadow, a 3-hour labyrinth in an open, sun-exposed area
Kosobudki - Drzewce - Pliszka (Village)
A short but very challenging route. Plenty of trees, beaver dams, and, above all, low water levels. If it is passable at the given time, it can only be done in single kayaks. A route navigated and discovered by a few, it is the wildest section of the Pliszka Rive
